# FAQ

### Does PageCheck prove a page was written with AI?

No. An AI check describes the text: which passages were written by AI and which by a person. Use the passages to understand a page; they say nothing about a person.

### What do AI, Mixed and Human mean?

**AI**: most of the page was written by AI. **Mixed**: part of it was, and the authorship view says how much ("32% of this page was written by AI.") and which passages. **Human**: PageCheck found no passage written by AI. [How the AI check works](https://atlassian.braingrid.ai/docs/pagecheck/how-it-works) says what each result does and doesn't mean.

### Does our page text leave Atlassian?

No. PageCheck runs entirely inside Atlassian on its own model, so page text never leaves Atlassian and the app calls no outside service.

### What does PageCheck keep from our pages?

Results, including the analyzed text shown in the authorship view, are stored in Atlassian's app storage for your site. PageCheck keeps no page text anywhere else. It also records, by Atlassian account id, the person each check started for: who asked for it, who published the edit, or who opened the page when it had no check yet. The [privacy policy](https://atlassian.braingrid.ai/privacy) has the details.

### Is our text used to train AI models?

No. PageCheck trains nothing on your pages.

### Who can see results?

Anyone who can view a page can see its label and its authorship view. PageCheck checks each person's view permission on every request.

### Can we turn PageCheck off in a space?

Yes. Remove the space under **Spaces to check** in PageCheck's settings and save. The label disappears from that space's pages. Results already stored stay until the page is deleted or you uninstall the app.

### Why does a page show "Check AI" when it was checked before?

The page changed. The label always describes the current version; the authorship view still shows the last result, marked with the version it checked, until the new version is checked.

### Why does a short page never get a result?

PageCheck needs at least 50 words of prose. Headings, code blocks, macros, images and embeds don't count.

### Which languages does it support?

PageCheck checks pages in any language. How reliable an AI check is varies by language.

### Does checking a page cost anything per check?

No. Your subscription includes the month's AI checks. There is no overage billing; when the month's AI checks run out, new checks wait for the reset or for more active users. See [AI checks](https://atlassian.braingrid.ai/docs/pagecheck/ai-checks).

### What happens when we uninstall?

Atlassian deletes PageCheck's app storage for your site, including all results, and the label no longer shows. PageCheck writes nothing to your pages; the one space property that turns it on in a space stays as Confluence data and does nothing without the app.
